Interés científico y técnico actual: Estudio de la geología y geoquímica de depósitos minerales y sistemas hidrotermales con especial énfasis en la exploración de materias primas metálicas. Geoquímica isotópica, geocronología, estudios de inclusiones fluidas y modelización numérica.

He trabajado en muchos tipos de depósitos y sistemas minerales incluyendo skarns, otros remplazamientos en carbonatos, oro orogénico y Ni-Cu en sistemas magmáticos. En los últimos años se ha hecho especial énfasis en sistemas IOCG y magnetita-(apatito) y sulfuros masivos volcanosedimentarios así como en las relaciones entre la actividad microbiana y precipitación de sulfuros.
